What is Sildenafil?
Sildenafil is the generic version of Viagra, an oral drug used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men brought about by various causes. It is used for the effective treatment of impotence and erectile dysfunction.
How does Sildenafil work?
The anti-impotence drug works by first relaxing the muscles that are found in the walls of the blood vessels in the penis, which increases blood flow in the genital organ of men. It allows muscles to relax and boosts erections; resulting in successful sexual intercourse.
What are the benefits of taking Sildenafil
This medication is specially designed to treat male sexual dysfunction such as ED or erectile dysfunction and impotence. With the right amount of sexual stimulation, the drug functions by boosting blood flow to the penis and allows a man to keep the erection for longer than usual.
The medication does not offer protection against STI’s. Always observe safe sex and follow best practices.
How do I use Sildenafil?
Take the medication as specifically instructed by your doctor. Follow all instructions as provided in the medication information leaflet. Do not take this medication in bigger or lesser amounts or for a longer period than prescribed.
Sildenafil is taken at least 30 minutes to one hour before scheduled sexual activity and its efficacy can take up to as much as 4 hours. Sildenafil must not be taken more than once a day.
Sildenafil can help anyone achieve an erection when the right sexual stimulation happens. An erection will not happen just by simply taking the medicine. Always follow your doctor’s advice regarding its proper use. If during the sexual activity, you feel nauseated or dizzy, or you feel numb or have a tingling sensation in your neck, arm, chest, or jaw, call your doctor immediately. You may be experiencing a serious side effect of the medication.
The dosage of Sildenafil often starts at 50mg, taken when the need arises or at least one hour before a desired sexual activity no more than once a day.

This has occurred to some people who have used the drug and many of them have heart ailments, high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, and those with preexisting eye problems. It is not however established if Sildenafil indeed causes permanent vision loss for some patients.
